PLEIN AIR

en Plein air, painting outdoors on location, in the open air, is my favorite way to paint as I love being immersed in nature. Several years ago, I gave myself this challange: to give up sketching & simply go right ahead and paint. Instead of making a sketch first before painting, I paint directly onto the paper. This way of painting, combined with the rapid changes in weather, shifts of lighting & unexpected movements of my natural subjects, is the excitement I love when painting en plain air!

MINIATURES

My plein air paint seto is mini too. This allows me to paint at any moment, where ever I may roam. I am inspired by what captures my senses: the aroma of the landscape, the quaking of the trees, the movement of the windsong on the swirling waters. Perhaps you can feel the peaceful excitement of total absorbson in the scene before you. I find a mini painting on site to be truly blissful!
